Tigerbay scalps the Cashmores Crew.......
Tigerbay scalps the Cashmores Crew.......
Continuing in his rich vein of form, Tigerbay, never seemingly out of the frame claimed 16 Cashmores and 3 visitor scalps on a dour and difficult river Trent at Sharretts Farm.
Tigerbay weighed 7lb 9oz, holding off a late challenge from MrV with 7lb 7lb
Well done Tigerbay
And well done Wedgey for clocking that couple of pound today that saw you over the winning line comfortably to claim the Cashmores crown.
Well I did predict before the off that a new name would grace the league trophy this year.

Tigerbay scalps the Cashmores Crew.......
First of all....Well Done "The Wedge". Consistent throughout the season, and a deserved Cashmores Champion
It would have been interesting if Yamo had managed to fish the last match, but at the end of the day, its time spent on the banks that succeeds. Maybe next year Yamo...bad luck mate
My match was a difficult affair. Had about 3 foot on the 5 meter whip line, with a good pace. I fancied this for a few fish. Also set up stick and waggler rigs.
At the off I fed 10 pouchfuls of hemp on the stick and wag lines. Loose fed caster on the wag line and maggot on the stick line.
3 handfuls of hemp on the whip line. loose fed maggot and started on that line, 5 minutes a gudgeon. 10 minutes a small roach, then nothing for 10 minutes.
On the stick line, 2 small roach then nothing, so after 90 minutes, I went out on the wag and caster. 20 minutes, not a bite
Back on the stick for a few more. Back on the whip for nothing Back on the wag for nothing .
Wag and whip rigs thrown up the bank and concentrate on the stick. Downstream wind made it hard going. Kept picking up a few, then struggling. Put a heavier rig on and they didn't want to know
Finished up casting the light stick like a waggler, fishing 2 foot overdepth and letting it "drag through". If I tried to slow it down, it came back looking like a washing line with bits of weed :'(
For the last hour I caught well, but in the end 2 oz short of the winner
Overall I enjoyed the matc, nice to get back on the Trent and do some proper fishing.

Just a thank you for having me as a guest. Only the second time i've fished the Trent in my life and i'm definitely going to get there again soon.
If the fish had been a bit bigger it would be a superb venue for me. Its the sort of thing I like, a bit of stick float fishing and ... so convenient.
Driving behind your peg !
While waiting outside the gate in my car, I poured some tea to find i'd forgotten to put any milk in the flask ....Looked out the window and where was I ? Outside Tesco.. cant get more convenient than that

Cheers TK and Mr V.
Must agree though, if yamo had been there it would have been a different story.
Not much to report on the match. caught my first fish after about 10 mins then an hour and half into the match must have had about a pound and half in the net, thought I was doing well. then nothing but slimey green stuff, one a chuck. Apart from the odd fish it was the same for the rest of the match.
looking forward to the gruellers. see you all there.
