Its the bottom end waggler punch man Derek Skinner, I remember him doing an article in the Angling Times a few years ago. Grumpy knows him as he used to fish a lot out there (and bag up). I see Derek's name from time to time as he still wins the odd match with his method.

Ive just stumbled across this forum by accident
and what do i see--a pic of myself from 1990ish--and even more amazing someone knew who i was.
the pic was from Anglers Mail--(notice how he made me cover up my Angling Times clubman badge) taken after i`d won a match on the Old Nene from the peg below the Health centre bridge.
If i remember right it was the last match of the season on the venue and i wieghed about 8lb 10oz (a low wieght but it did go off towards the end of the season)
Ive not been fishing at all for the last 5 years-but am gonna have another go soon--just a bit of pleasure fishing cos i`m too old and slow to compete in matches nowdays.
hence the reason for researching fishing on the net.
Derek

Hi Daskin
Nothing ‘sinister’ with your picture ‘selected’ for inclusion in this section - honestly, rest assured
The ‘All our yesterdays’ section of the forums was born accidentally a couple of years back when I had some old mags off Simps which were a bit of a nostalgia trip for me.
If you check back to the very first few posts in this section, initially I started posting ‘extracts’ of report from the AM relating to a few original forum members or of people I knew they could relate to or recognise.
Soon I realized that as the forum was growing with members/viewers from all around the country I needed to start posting pictures of anglers from all corners to ‘keep interest’ in the section and so as to not isolate some of the members if it only contained ‘faces’ from say the Midlands area.
I cant lay my hands at the moment on the actual AM that your picture came from to confirm your weight……..but I’ve just clocked in the AM dated 4th Jan 1992 a report that you drew near to the Health Centre - this was on The Old Nene at March - and polefished punch and pinkies to take 3rd place with 14-7-0 of roach

Ps guys and gals - if anyone out there has any dusty, fading old fishing mags and papers from 10 or 20 odd years ago I could do with 'em to keep this part of the forum 'going'
