Breaking news

Reports are filtering through of an incident earlier in the day on the Wyrley & Esssington Canal near Fishley.

Apparently an unnamed 'angler', supposedly unconsolable having lost to a Talk Angling team captained by the notorious Larry Teepot the day earlier, then finding himself being battered either side by Local cracks Big Baz and Mick decided he just couldnt tke any more and embarked on a suicide bid, throwing himself head first into the murky depths of the canal.

The suicide bid was thwarted by the prompt herioc actions of the anglers 'next peg' adversaries, Big Baz and Mick who pulled the chocking and spluttering angler ashore.


Ps - thanks guys for sorting the angler out  - in particular big Baz who lost getting on for an hour of the match taking the angler home so he ocould get out of that wet clothing 


Pps - thanks to the other anglers for all their words of concern too

Just tied up some joker rigs with those size 28s and 32s that were hidden away in the box drawer that nearly floated away



All sorted but thought I'd better be more prepared for the next match.......

If you are really contemplating this suicide lark could you be a bit considerate and let me have your bits of kit.
It should come in handy if we ever do an angling 'history' lesson with the kids
