i thought we'd of had a report and some pics off the harrison's team by now

Well from a 'Harrisons' view point there's not really a lot I can say
With the side 'reinforced' from last year by the likes of Big Baz, Mick G, Mick the fish, Tricast62 and Sprucey I thought we 'could mix it' a bit on the day with the obviously greatly improved TA squad
The scales tell a differing story.........spose a number of our guys were never gunna compete on the silverfish front against some of the TA 'cracks', particularly as most of them had w&j, 80% of our team didnt.........plus a deciding factor was the lack of appearance of 'bonus' fish - although I did hear that one TA'er lost 4 (he must have been on the pot noodle ) and another lost one. Perhaps more were hooked and lost............don't know cuss I was 'out of the frey' down the far end
Plus despite Cheslynboy and Goughy doing aok last weekend on the punch, it just daint work at all
I personally was pegged to the right of Wood Lane bridge, not the best area in the world. In fact before the off I told my nearest TA challenger - Bluezulu - that it was going to be hard going for us, although I thought MarkV and Cockney Blanker also in our section on the next two pegs up would see a few fish as I've seen them produce well in the past, albeit in differing conditions
In fact Cotti came down before the off and his greeting wasn't 'Howdy TK, how you doing' or 'Good morning' it was an emphatic 'What you done, killed a robin?'
Spose that sums it all up and 'authenticates' the BDM tag.
To my right Bluezulu struck early on with 2 netters to TK's 'nil bites'
With no bites on the punch I finally avoided the drynet with a small pinkie silver.
I wheedled a few more bits out for a total of 7 fish........although the last two hours were spent dragging a worm around two baited lines for two kinvers which contributed to 50% of my impressive catch
Half way through the match, with Heinzer officiating and Sprucey seemingly suicidal, news filtered down that we were having a bit of a trouncing
As I've posted on the TA site, ignoring the result
on behalf of myself and Heizer who was 'officiating' we thoroughly enjoyed the banter and friendly nature of the contest and day as a whole...........despite losing .
It was good meeting up with a few old keyboard friends from the site and making many more.
That sums it up for me - I enjoyed myself despite the kicking in big time this weekend
Anyway a few pictures of the day - most took in the pub before the off.......
Teepot still half asleep
The Shark and Cotti - a lot was resting on how they would terrorise the opposition
Punch kings Cheslynboy & Goughy
Big Baz, Tricast62, Mickthefish OBI and Mick G
A few pickies of the TA gang including la Les the mercenary
Marco MBC
Cockney Blanker tucking in
Zorro and the marooned Harrisons gang the otherside of Wood Lane
Bluezulu just checking out with Heinzer 'Is it really gunna be a ballacher down here?
Cotti's grin says it all......I aint gotta add owt else
Kin ell.......its cold down this end

The draw was at the Finger Post pub who had kindly agreed to open early to make us breakfasts and have somewhere nice to do the draw. Thanks for the lovely food and hospitality.
The Draw in the pub
While I was still eating my sausage, bacon and cheese sarnie the draw got under way. TK’s crew were to be on even number and TA were on the odds (cock pegs) hehe. Larry from TA drew pegs for us and visa versa. I ended up with peg 18 on the common. For company from my crew I had Sprucey on 16 and Budgie on 14. Lee Woodhouse had drawn peg 13, the peg everyone wanted.
Lee on another good peg
Walking down to Peg 18
I got to my peg and realised is was one peg away from where I had a drynet from on one of the gruller matches earlier in the year, I drynetted along with eveyone else (except 3 people) I liked the look of the peg and thought it would be good for a few fish.
I went out to a comfy 13m for my punch line and found I had 1 ½ foot of water. I didn’t have a inside shelf as such because it was more like a gentle slope from 1 foot down to 4-5 foot of water. I settled at the deepest for a caster line.
Me Plumbing up at 13m
I only had punch and caster with a few pinkies for today and word was the TA cracks were going to be using bloodworm and joker. I stuck to what I knew and had been working down here on practice sessions. With everything set up I had 20 mins to kill and walked down to see Sprucey, Budgie and Mouse.
Sprucey on peg 16
Budgie on 14
Lee Woodlouse on fancied Peg 13
With the match about to start Lee announced he had forgotten his drink and asked Gem to go and fetch him some water. So off she went to the pub only to find that a farty little bottle cost £1.70. Tight wobbly cheeks Woodhouse was never going to pay that so she went to find the local shops instead. She took a few pics on the way. Gem was not the only Lady there offering support either.
Tea brought to your peg, cant be bad

The Fingerpost Pub
On the all in I cupped in a pot of punch on the 13m line and a pot of punch with a few casters and hemp on the track line. I shipped out to 13m with some bread and only had to wait 20 seconds for a bite, a small roach. I had avoided a drynet so I was happy. Shipping out again I had another right away and was thinking I was in for a nice days fishing. With in 5 minutes I had 3 fish in the net and then the bloodworm and joker cracks either side of me started catching and left me struggling for a bite.
So after the first hour I had started well and found myself struggling to compete with the guys either side of me. I tried my track line and did not have one single bite from it in the whole match. For the rest of the match I switched lines and tried coming further down the far shelf and closer to the far side snaring the odd fish here and there but could not get the fish feeding properly.
I cupped in some more punch in an attempt to get some fish back in my peg but before I could get back out a swan came by and hoovered the lot up lol.
Naughty Swan liked my bread.
The guys either side of me on the B & J were slaughtering me and were regularly catching. The only chance I had was to catch a beastie from the track but the Tench and Bream were being very shy today, not one was caught although there were reports from Henizer who was bank running that people were being broke by some big fish.
With the whistle signalling the all out I knew I would probably be last in my section and thought I had about 8oz and I wasn’t far off with my guess. Sprucey reckoned he had about a lb and Budgie said he would be lucky to have 6oz. Woodhouse on the other hand was like a cheshire cat so we knew he had done well.
Silverfish to my left. 4lb
My few fish
The Guy to my rights fish
Spruceys Fish
On to today’s overall winner of the match and as much as it pains me to type this….. Lee Woodhouse. Well done mate.

I would like to thank both TK and Larry for arranging this superb well run match. I have had a right laugh on the day even if the fishing for me was hard going. I will be fishing this again for sure.
