I have been able to obtain a booking for saturday 17th October. Unfortunately its the only date i can get before the clocks change that Kevin can make.
I have the option of Pathfield, Copse or Cottage lake at Colemans and have provisionally gone for Cottage seeing as we have never fished it before. There are only 19 pegs on it and realistically only 16.
I know that Peter and Al are already booked into an MDs match at Sams on that date and together with a Judy and Jim also not able to come Im sure it will be able to accomodate us even if Peter and Al change their plans.
So who fancies a crack at it?

Thats 13 definates

Thanks for organising this match. One quick question -do they supply landing and keep nets (as with Pathfield) or do we need to bring our own?
Cheers

Im almost sure they still supply all the nets. As they take to trouble to do it for the other 3 lakes to safeguard their fish I cant see them making an exception for the lake across the road.
Still I will confirm with Jane when I speak to her to confirm numbers.

OK only a couple of days to go. Anyone got any thoughts on how it will fish or what tactics are likely to work.

Very likely to fish hard unfortunately. I suspect with the cold nights we have been having of late winter tactics need to start applying, however there is rain on the way if its cold rain then stick with the winter plan, warm rain then go for a slightly bolder approach.

No rain forecast for Witham though they say there will be an 18mph NORTHERLY wind 11 deg with a 3 deg windchill. Fortunately I think the lake is well sheltered so it may not be too bad. Still it looks time to get the thermals ready for action.
The main problem is noone really knows much about this lake so its going to be a case of gently does it. I guess Ill have to consider buying a quarter pint of maggots for this week then.

Whats the point you never even made a comment on the last match results despite asking where the results were.
