The best time to fish natural venues in this country is september, so i think the final/finals should be in september. There are only 6 anglers in the England team so that shouldn't even be a consideration, the best fishing for the 100 plus finalists should come 1st

The best time to fish a Winter League series is the crappity smack Winter.
It is there for all to see in the name of the competition.

No crappity smack arguement.
Full stop.
Finito.
End.

It's not a series Bill, it's a final and finals should be fished when at its best.  Septembers more winterthan July

Ps Joff dont forget my mars bar points for last sunday 53 peg win

Neah, neah, neah, and a thousand more neahs!

It is the culmination of the WINTER league series.

The don't actually play the FA Cup Final at the best time of the year for football do they?

I'm losing the will to live over this one Image

My life is ebbing away even faster now on this one Image

I agree they shouldn't be in march, it gives too much practice time to wreck a venue but with team fishing on its knees everything should be done to make finals as good as possible.

Hi lads,
I think Ken has made the right decision to move the final date to September as given reasonable conditions there should be more roach feeding then......

That being said, maybe some thought should be given to how many matches are held on the river from June onwards and weather or not B&J are allowed??????

An interesting question would be weather or not Ken will be running his summer league on the river next year????
