its all change in this years winter league semis 2 north 2 south
i can understand that changes have to be made after last years semis as it must of been a nightmare for ken with teams not turning up and one almost not turning up for the final
a decision has had to be made and what ever ken doe's it will be wrong in a lot of anglers eyes however i feel that team fishing is responsible for a lot of this as captains are finding it harder to motivate anglers with in the team to travel,to have time off work to practice and this might not get any easier with big semi finals a lot of traveling, venues getting a lot more pressure like i say decisions have to be made
what worries me is the fact of only 4 semis and only 3 teams from each go through  :-/ a 12 team final this tells me that fewer anglers a change of venue is surely on the cards for the final and it suggests a commercial venue
the only point i'd like to make is i'm not bothered where the semi finals are but would like to know where the final venue is as i'm sure if the smaller teams realize they are paying £60 to get to a commercial final venue some wouldn't fish the leagues
i'm not saying this is a ploy by angling times but everything has been sent out late and must be returned by the 28th sept this gives little time for debate if any
i realize that naming the final venue teams could send anglers to practice early on Image its a tricky one Image what do you think

Lets have it right about teams not turning up for a semi last year !! The NW semi was stratigically placed at Whitchurch to suit a team or two to qualify for the final, the venue being Hampton Springs ...... since when was Whitchurch EVER in the North West ?? A team from WIGAN which btw is in the middle of the North West objected to this so rightly or wrongly didnt turn up. Also if every team has to pay this extra £60 crap before the league starts shouldnt they HAVE THE RIGHT to know where the semi finals are going to be aswell as the final ? No wonder team fishin is in dire striaits with shite like this going on >:( >:(

How can you pick a squad to fish the biggest competition in the country if you don't know what fishing skills are required to fish

swampy where are you going to go individual matches just don't get the same turnouts as team matches
i think ken and the powers above ken should launch the whole package from start to finish ie you will fish a league of six matches and the top two go through to a semi finial on this venue and the top three teams qualify to fish the finial on this date and this venue couldn't get any simpler than that
we are the buying customer

Totally agree with you dan  Image Maybe they should change the name to "Treat Match Anglers Like Sh!te Winter League" ......

Its a crap situation but the same teams more or less will be in the final again and we all know that is exactly what AT wants........ be it on a carp puddle, a weeded up river/drain or ......... LARFORD  Image Image

If everyone drops out i'll run the semi's and final!

£30 per team per round.

9 semi's, 3 north, 3 midlands, 3 south, 1 canal, 1 commie and 1 river.

Final at a Lake in Staffordshire with 18 teams. no bloodworm, no joker,
