Jinx match at Holly Farm.

Saturday the 14th July.
Fished another match with the mad Jinx members of MD's at Holly farm on Gil's pool which is a snake shaped canal style pool.
I took 4 pints of casters and 3 tins of meat(small cubes) as I intended to fish shallow all day.
At the draw I wanted to draw peg 15 or higher as 1 - 14 was well windy pegs. In goes my hand, out comes peg 21. Flat calm peg, lovely and sunny, Perfect.
I setup my shallow rigs and a backup on the deck rig at 10 meters which I ended up not using
On the all in I started off at 5 meters on double caster while feeding caster and had a carp after about 5 mins. I continued to catch very slowly all day except the final hour when I never had anything.
I had to chase the fish all over the place as they didn't stay in one place. Also kept swapping to meat while still feeding caster which worked ok too.
I thought I had about 30lb at the end of the match but when the scales arrived at my peg I weighed 43lb 15oz which gave me second on the day. 52lb 2oz won.
I won my quid of Gem and Ant and avoided the minx club for the second time
We got down to Si's (me) peg and his nets were nowhere to be seen except a bait tub with some water in it
His catch for the day was in said bait box, 1 perch....
Was a nice day out and this was a afternoon match which makes a nice change to starting early.
