Friday
Well I'm no good at blogging so this will be brief with some pictures
Waiting for Budgie who was late as usual and blamed it on traffic
Budgie finally arrived to settle my excitment.
After a nice delay free drive we got there to find only Mugger on the carpark. I have never seen it so bare. Dave the frog then turned up sporting his new trolley, I think Mugger was impressed.
We had to wait for John and Pauline to cut the grass before we could put the tents up but as soon as they finished we got erecting
We then got the camp set up ready for some tea making exercises.
There was another club fishing on the Friday also so we had the big lake and the club had the small lake.
At the draw I drew peg 29 so I had a nice short walk from the car and really fancied the peg. With Gem having to work we were all safe from a minxing today
The lake did not fish very well and quite a lot of people were struggling including myself.
After the match it was back to camp David for some much needed grub
Bacon and steak in rolls was to be the menu. It all went down a treat
On the Saturday I drew peg 34 which I have never fished before.
After fishing shallow I hooked a monster carp which took me in to the lillies, I tried to pull him free but ended up braking my number 4 section :(
Lucky for me Mitch was on hand and soon stripped down to his boxer shorts and recovered my top kit for me.
Thanks Mitch
At the weigh in I knew it was close for me having a Minxing
Eddie and Budgie were winding me up saying Gem had 90+ lb and I thought I had about 45lb, not looking good.
I was first to be weighed and weighed in about 41lb...
Gem weighed in 39lb, I scraped through by the skin of my teeth
Saturday night was a good laugh mainly at Tony's (Spamwham) expense who was sleeping in his car...
On Sunday Gem drew Peg 8 which had won yesterday with Dave Moore fishing the paste. Gem Had a good result on peg 8 2 years a go when she minxed everyone but 1 person from peg 8.
So I was not excited to draw peg 15. I hate 14 and 15 as its in the sun all day and the sun reflects in the water in to your eyes.
I escaped a minxing though with Gem having a nightmare fishing the paste, foul hooking and loosing fish.
Mugger drew with Gem again escaping another Minxing
The final results for the weekend look like this..
