Right then guys and Judy.

Whats the craic at Hartleylands? Image

I am not going to practice it so need some proper info. Depths, baits methods etc.

And before you mention any method will catch. What will win it? Or at least frame. Image

PRACTICE Image..... for a Marsh match....... you having a laugh arent you?As Al says Keith any method can win with a ton plus on a good day.

Everyone has a chance by fishing to their strengths. Al has said he will set up the method and 10m pole whereas I will go 7 metres and a top 3 with pellet and paste. Colin will fish out and out paste as usual.
Pellet wag, floating feeder if conditions are right, long shallow, method and straight feeder, down the edge, mid range on the deck, pellet or paste. Take your pick they all have their day and will all produce reasonable weights.

There are plenty of small carp ( 1 to 2 lb), loads of good roach and skimmers with a good head of 6 to 10lb carp especially late on. I would expect 2 or 3 to get the ton with good backing weights and even the also rans should get over 20lb.

There are 38 pegs in all so I expect everyone will have a spare peg to one side if not both. I have already invited DaveT ( Fayes Dads) along to join us again.
If you want the extra special tips then give me a ring. Image Image;) ;) Image

Keith,
You can rely on the fact that the Three MustyQueers Musketeers will fish at Nick's prior to the match Image. Not to practice you understand, just to check the pegging and make sure the car park can accomodate the members ::), It's just a question of whether they can co-opt Tel into becoming d'Artagnan. We have no need to fish it before hand to practice or check the parking and pegging. However if you would like me to visit the farm shop in the week beforehand, to order hot pies and pasties to be delivered to the lake, then I would force myself to go down there on your behalf. Image

So let me get this right,

Dave the Fish is GOING to supply Pies and Pasties to your peg on the day in question. A step up from the silver service treatment Matt got at Manor Farm.

I will have a Kent pastie with a dollop of brown sauce.

Well you didnt attend the Xmas match I ran on Nicks a few years ago Keith.

A Hot pie or pastie was delivered to each angler at their peg along with a shot of Canadian Club for those that wanted to partake, halfway through the match. Image

You dont get that sort of service very often. :D

You been raiding the old photo stores again Mugger.

Still I must admit it was the quietest its ever been with the Jinx in attendance. I wonder if he will be as quiet on the next Jinx match. Image Image Image

Just spoken to Paul the owner and he says its fishing brilliantly. Recent charity match with every peg in was won with 171lb and smaller matches with up to 250lb. Every method catching well, pellet Wag, long pole shallow, method feeder, floating feeder, down the edge.

I said it should be good especially if the weather improves. He replied I hope it carries on raining and you all get very wet.

Dont you just love Fishery owners who are also farmers. Image Image

Sorry for that report Al but enjoy your cod fishing in the force 8 predicted :D :D

The same time as it has been for at least the last 10 years, and the same as it wil be in the future. Image

If the wait the last time I was in the Knoxbridge cafe is anyting to go by, the draw will be 30 minutes before you arrive. Image
