wet a line this weekend

Found a lovely glide on the Avon. Very decent pace and smooth as glass. Didnt know there were any swims like that, BAA water too. Beautifull as a picture and then some.

Stood there with just a rod, shot and plummet in pocket, disgorger behind ear'ole and a towel in my belt and wondered why I needed all the other kit i'd left in the car.

Had some roach, wheyhey. Best around half a pound and one a bit bigger on hemp and tares with a couple of pound chub thrown in. Loved it.

There were plenty more fish in the swim but they were as finicky as hell. Tiny, tiny indications for bites. I'd have a fish, or maybe two and they'd disappear until I found them somewhere else in the swim. Time flew

Only prob was had pike trouble. Had it on twice, broke me once and let go once, if it was the same fish. Caused me to try and whip the fish out quick and he settled at my feet and was coming clear out the water aiming for the roach as I bought them in. Heart in mouth job everytime, but he only managed one off me.
