i know this might upset one or two but i'm after the best venues in the midlands [sorry but only the midlands at the moment]
the best 4 rivers that can take 80 to 100 pegs
the best 4 canals that can take 80 to 100 pegs
the best 4 lakes that can take 80 to 100 pegs
and the best 4 commercials that can take 80 to 100 pegs
that should start the ball rolling
i would like the commercials and lakes around June to august ,canals and rivers Sept to march so each venue can be picked for it best time of year.you could have two canal and river matches after Christmas and could be B/J venues
once we have eliminated some of the venues we can move on to dates one stage at a time

An idea, by the Black Horse lads, was put to me after our National practise match on Sunday.
They wanted to see a canal only league run on a slightly larger scales (geographically) so it could inolve anglers from further afield.
There is no intention here Joffrey in treading on your corns; this is being booted about a bit.
Any further thoughts from anyone?

The options are there i think, with the numerous quality canals around our area plus the likes of milton keynes, northampton, loughborough and the stainy if run at the right time of year the fishing would be exceptional

hi bill this is only the first stage this might take two years to get up and running.its got be crystal clear to have any chance of a major sponsor deal all i'm trying to do is test the water with the venues.its ok having a all canal league but it will have the same problems as a all commercial league teams soon loose interest if they can't compete with the top teams.Ok the best teams should come out top on different venues but what you find is there is a better chance of slip ups creating a closely fort league.the biggest problem i can think is the traveling

Joff,
I had 10 from Yorkshire yesterday
Even had two shandy drinkers.
Like you, I thought the travelling was bound to be a problem; they didn't seem bothered.
It is very central here and so easy to get to.
This was only muted around, nothing definite. Quite a few asked about it.

i surpose it would be better to see which teams are interested at this point
a league with four venues all different ie lake, canal, river and commercial

it will always clash but i feel if the right amount of money is put in and there is a pot at the end for the winners it will pull the teams to it match fishing is so fragmented small league here and there if we want a proper league it has to have a big backing from the start

Stainy & River Weaver
When i was thinking of a league both these venues would have been in. My original thoughts were:
Tunnel barn or Larford
Weaver
Milton Keynes (midlands canal if national hadn't been on them)
Stainy last round possibly with worm and joker.
I think whoever won after 4 rounds on varied venues should be the winners, no need for a final on a specific venue.

we cant loose track of this topic personally i think if it took off m/keynes would be a southern venue and stainy would be a northern.now if the interest was not so good in these areas i wouldn't see a problem and it might make teams from the two areas join in.my other thoughts would be make it 8 rounds if you have no finals 8 sundays is'nt many for a season at this scale
