Well today it has been 30 years since I was first diagnosed with diabetes and started taking insulin. Thats 21,170 injections in total.
Still at least I have avoided any major complications so far and am still here to pester the rest of you
Now how shall I celebrate.?
1) a cup of tea no sugar
2) be a bit naughty and have a couple of sweets
3) go the whole hog and have my dream afters of Treacle tart and custard and worry about the extremely high blood sugars later.
What do you think?

Wouldnt say that Joff. Many people say they could never stick a needle in themselves but its very easy to get on with it, especially when the choice is do it or die.
You can do most things with a bit of forethought and planning though its a lot easier now than it was 30 years ago when diet drinks, disposable syringes and home blood testing just didnt exist.
If Gary Mabbut can play top class football and Steve Redgrave can be a world beating rower then fishing 10 nationals and a few games of cricket pale into insignificance.
There are some benefits like free prescriptions for all my other drugs and it also got me out of doing jury service.
