To be honest I'm unsure exactly how much things are here in tackle shops but I went in Cloughbally Mill Angling in Enniskillen and these items were:-

Casters/maggots £2.50 per pint; 8 pints still £20.
Groundbait (56 Lb sack) pure brown crumb £16.
Groundbait 20 bags for £50 (I know that is quite a bit cheaper than over here)
Worms £16 kilo.
Floats (canal type) £1.99 each, buy 10 get two free.

I was amazed at the amount of canal gear they had in!

Are these good prices or not?

funny bill we are in a recession and a really bad one lots of my mates are on short time or have lost there jobs yet leisure is going up and up in price Image
our food prices have had to come down and we now work on volume sales to keep going :-/ok more work less money but its keeping my staff in work i,m sure if the tackle trade was to work on these lines they would be a lot busier £20 a gallon :D :D i'd have a gallon a week Image floats buy 5 get 1 free i could see that working
sometimes i walk into tackle shops and see long faces its all doom and gloom trades crap i don't know how long we will be here.nobody has a right to be busy you have to work for every penny and sometimes you have to loose a bob to make a pound Image Image
the way forward in my book is not putting prices up but to take less margin and keep turning products over Image Image

I only put that post up as an observation.
It was a very busy shop but they were willing to do a deal on almost anything.
To be honest I haven't a clue what proper tackle shop prices are anyway nowadays.
I helped out in a tackle shop on Fridays for about ten years but have lost track.
