Simple Match Fishing Forum

Me and Gem decided to have a few hours up the Willows today.
Gem settled on peg 1 and I went on peg 36 so we could see each other. Gem shouts across that she is starting a "Pleasure fishing Minx List" I shouts back "crappity smack off" 

Gem claimed the first fish but needed my help to unhook it as it hook had gone straight through and into the landing net  ::)



I had my first carp 20 minutes later. I had started by trying the pellet waggler with double red maggot but all I caught was a few roach and I could see that the carp were in the margins so I set my pole up.



My next fish caused me a bit of trouble much to Gem's amusement  There is a sunken boat to my right and the carp knew he would be safe in there and thats where he took me 
I had to get my top kit past a tree as well to get to the end off the boat where he was hiding.

Bloody little bugger...





Gem then screams out "Its not stopping, its gonna break me"
I looks up and see's her fully extended on her box trying to stop a carp from its first power run    I didnt laugh,, honest 
She couldn't add sections as I had put her pole down the side of her because a car wanted to go past 

She had nothing to worry about and soon got him back in...



And it wasnt long before he was heading for the landing net...





Gem then had another fish which made the total 3 fish each....
Gem started packing up and I had one last put in and BINGO
I was into another fish which made the score 3-4 to MEEEEEE 

No Minxing for me. She was shouting nasty things to me because I sneaked back in the water when I said I was packing up 

We both put on factor 25 sun cream as it was well sunny before we left  but as soon as we got there it clouded over and started to lightly rain  ::) ::)

Will be going again soon for sure.

It was great to be out again, although i was lost without nets! 

The yellow got tightened up before Willows so it may be ok at Rolfs, but ive brought Red Hydro anyway for atleast 1 kit 

Plenty of banter flowed and an enjoyable few hours and very close to home!  Thanks Si
