Got to the venue and was greeted by the sound of carp smashing through the reeds  Image Great they were spawning  Image
At the draw I drew peg 24 (permanent peg 9) It was very tight to get 2 nets in and leave room to fish the margin....

Image

I setup a 10 meter line and a 5 meter line as well as shallow and margin rigs. We had been told we COULD NOT feed meat. So I planned to use corn and feed casters and corn.
At the all in I cupped in a big pot of corn and casters and went right on the 5 meter line. Nothing for the first 10 mins then a tiny carp in the mean time the guy on the peg to my left was into a good carp.... I only drew next to Tinky  Image Now the only thing on my mind was to beat him or I would never hear the end of it on here lol  :D
I was still going very slow with no bites while Tinky was laughing and catching more on his chopped worm and caster. I have never heard him yap so much  Image Image
I was in a panic and didn't know what to do so I went shallow with double caster and got a roach right away, in the mean time Stinky is still catching and looking across laughing...
I put the roach in the net and went back out, fed 2 pouches of caster and the laccy shot out... Carp on  Image Landed the much needed carp, he was about 4lb. I went back out and hooked into another which I lost  :( I switched to corn as the roach the just playing with the caster, bites were slower but I was having problems hooking into them. They were biting very shy.
Anyway I managed to get another 4 carp in the net and had 5 fish for 21lb 14oz. Would I beat Tinky, I knew it would be close. I didn't have a fish in the last hour and struggled like a bast*rd to get those 5 fish.
I pulled Tinks net out and knew he didn't have enough, BUT he had some smaller carp and some silvers in his other net  Image Did I have enough  Image
YES  :P He weighed 18lb 02oz. So next time Tinky winky, don't take the yellow stream to early in the match   :D :D
The match was won with 74lb 06oz from peg 7, dunno what permanent peg it was. In the right hand corner as you look at the pool.

Tinky also lost another pound to Bob the Knob today  :'( :'(

My expectations of the place were that we were all gonna catch big weights. I was very wrong  :o
I will put the results up in the next half hour.......

I gave my camera to Conna to take some picture while me and Sprucey was weighing in.......
Thanks for taking 54 Pictures  Image I have put 25 up in the Gallery. Cheers Conna  Image

I can't say much about my performance today really except that I wish I'd drawn a different peg coz I'm sure mine was devoid of fish :-/ . I used my new pole today and was hoping to christen it but I never had a fish on it. I weighed 7lbs and finished last but one but as Arnie says "I'll be back".

P.s. Simple, can you weigh all of my fish next time please Image

P.P.S. Thanks to Andy Spruce who kindly :'(gave me a couple of tins of Corn (which unfortunately I didn't need).
