Ken was a good bloke that has done more than his fair share of keeping the "Natural venues" match fishing scene in the Walsall/Wolverhampton/Black Country alive and he will be sorely missed

I first met Ken when I first started fishing matches on the canals around Wolverhampton and he would regulary turn up with camera in hand to get some shots for the Pink Paper and the Express and Star, sadly the Pink later dropped the fishing column.

In the last few years i have spent endless hours on the phone to Ken when a simple task to phone the results in usually ended up with us putting the world to right.

Every Saturday my first look at the Express and Star was at the fishing pages to see what had happened on the previous weekend, can anyone remember when Fred Cheetham died?

Over the last couple of decades Ken has made a lot of friends and fans through his articles and books, just a pity a few more anglers didn't show up today to pay their last respects to the voice of fishing in the local area.

RIP Ken

It was an honour to know you.

Ken gave me my first ever big write up in the Pink after a win on the Walsall cut through the ice. He called me King Arthur in big letters which made my whole family proud. Dave Harrell was at the funeral and said it was a good send off for a very well respected man
