Lee Woodhouse, chairman of HanKat Angling Society who organises canal matches across the region said number of anglers have already turned their backs on canals.

The 40 year old from Willenhall said he had a rod holdall stolen from Tipton and yobs on a mini moto had tried to snatch a bag with fishing gear worth £4000 from a stretch in Dudley
