licenses from the PO

My wife went to renew my license today at our main post office and was asked had she got my renewal letter. She replied no and the bloke in the PO said you cant purchase a license from a PO then. When i got home i phoned the EA and asked them why i couldn't renew my license from the PO as i have done in the past. The lady from the EA said this is becoming a regular problem with regaurds to licenses and the PO.

She explained that the EA have had many phone calls simular to mine as many people who want to renew their license or people who want new (first time) licenses have been turned awy. She explained that its happening purely because of lazyness on behave of the PO counter staff as with the renewal letter the counter staff only have to scan the bar code at the bottom of the page and all the info is there and is printed staright onto the new license were as if you dont have the letter with the bar code (or are a first time license buyer) the counter staff have to type your details into the system for it to print it onto your license.

She asked the deatils of the post office so the EA can place an official complaint. She asked for me to pass this message on to other people i know so,

If any of you want to renew or buy a new license from the PO then you still can. If you are told by the counter staff that you can long buy them from the PO or are told you only can use the PO for licences if you have the letter then the EA want to know about the PO, so report the PO to the EA.

this sounds like fun and games. i will be getting my licence next week when my old licence finishes got a day licence for my pops and only got a reciept which i thought was strange but was told its because they are bring out the new type next week

the new style licences have been out for a while now mike. They aren't papper any more they are glossed over cardboard and are ment to be the simular size to a credit card. Ive heard this years (2009/2010) as the pic of a perch on and each new year will have a different fish on and salmon licenses as a salmon on. Also because of the gloss finish people are struggling to sign the new license as once theyve signed it, the ink wipes off.

I personaly havent seen the new licenses yet as i phoned and paid for mine on the phone after the PO wouldnt sell me one, and the points ive made above are only what ive been told by people who have purchased them already.

thats what the mrs did (took this years license). They should sell you a renewal but some havent been. How did gem get on when she got her day license to fish the match last week ? did she get a propper one or have jus a reciept like mike did ????

When i got my 1 day release for the Cashmores match last week, i went to the PO to get it, had a right game with them too! ::)

She couldnt suss out the times, i wanted it from 8am, but computer was saying invalid! Hmmmm.
So it turnt out after her speaking to the 3 others working there they couldnt suss it out why it wouldnt work.
She shows me the computer screen.... 'think i know why' says i..... 'try 08:00:00' meaning hours, minutes and seconds! Bang it worked! Am i good or am i good!

My license was just a post office reciept, which im surprised i didnt loose!!

She said they were changeing them and letters would be sent out.

Think she said if i wanted a full one i would go to PO, pay, and then it would be sent to me in the post.

Think Tink said its in the shape of a credit card now but flimsery.

Just ask for a new license at the PO over the counter next week

The renewal letter is just a reminder

It's easier to get a Marriage Licence.

More crappity smack expensive though.

Just bought my rod license online. Was well easy

Got a print out in case I decide to go fishing before it turns up...Bobs ya uncle

Only problem I can't print it off, blooody Printer is crappity smack
