The ship on the MCFC badge refers to the Manchester Ship Canal. Failing that, its the The Mersey–Irwell Canal or the Manchester & Ashton-under-Lyne Canal. Bet its full of shopping trolleys and torn up MCFC tickets!

The canal which runs behind The City Of Manchester Stadium is commonly known as The Ashton Canal

The Rochdale canal which is around a quarter of a mile away runs parallel with it ....... both canals end in Manchester city center

dodge is there a rowing club on that piece of canal

i think we had a super league on there and paul jarram won it with 19lb

and if i remember it has a train track on the oppsite side
the train was full of fans that day
