On the 'new' match pool


Fishery rules


All anglers must have a current EA rod licence

Only barbless hooks are allowed

All nets must be dipped before fishing

Two keepnets are required for all matches



Bait restrictions

Groundbait to be used with a pole cup or feeder only

No boilies allowed

No nuts of any kind to be used

Meat only allowed as hooked bait

No meat of any kind to be loose fed (including cat meat)

No trout pellets

Carp pellets are allowed MAX 1kg per person

Any type of meat or pellet can be used as hook bait

No floating baits of any kind (for any of the new members that's also a club rule)

Please do not bring restricted baits on site - transgression will result in ban



Health and safety

All cars must be left in the car park (unless prior arrangement made)

No litter to be left (included cigarette ends)

All noise to be kept to a minimum

The new match pool is in the field immediately north of the canal sections - just shows how old them sat pictures are

I built a lift shaft at a school not far from there, I had no idea it was there.
The road we used to drive down to the school was called Curbough Road as well, slight clue there

Another on me then, good job ive ordered my new one then

looking forward to this venue, one of the best we had last yr. Something for all the club members to get excited about,hoping we'll see lasher, fatty kendall,tommy cooper,MGB, heinzer, and bobby dougliss who missed the first one.

What i liked about this venue before was that we were able to space anglers out and in many cases have an angler on every other peg,i felt this added to the good weights all round the pool. It was nice to see all the smiles back on the car park afetrwards.I also like the way the curbourough guys come round and weigh in nice and quick..very efficient.
Wanna say thanks to TK for booking this, i was one of those who requested we went back, so chuffed when it was announced as a cashmore's match venue. If only Tk would share his secret with us how to sack up there.Bet he can't guess his own weight exact again!!!

a lot of people struggle with this method as they don't use water proof wicks so there candles go out once they hit the water

You also need to ensure you have a good lighter too........



I prefer a good old fashioned petrol model
