How did you all go ?
I feel sorry for you all, the weather was terrible today. Wind chill factor of -minus conditions and the wind was awful.
Just bricklaying the trowel was blowing out of my hand so god know's how your poles were blowing about

Mouse's Canal Match
Fished on the Birmingham mainline canal at Wolverhampton
15 anglers turned up to fish on what could be honestly described as bloody horrendous conditions with gale force winds interrupted only by showers of hail and snow.
Young Adam Slade fished a good match to win his 1st ever canal match with 9-2-2 consisting of 2 bream and 6lb of roach on joker.

Some very good weights there
What happened KOD, weren't the carp biting on the corn :D
TK section win, nice mate. Mr V I'm surprised you didn't get somewhere with that weight, great effort indeed.
5 dry nets, feel sorry for those guys, but that fishing I suppose.
Looks forward to the other reports :)

Mouse's Canal Match
Must say firstly, they had to be some of the worst conditions I have ever fished in!! All the same, enjoyed my session, having some nice skimmers to punch. Had hardly anything on worm/joker, so I guess I still have some learning to do, having not fished these baits for almost 7 years.
Thanks for organising it Lee.

Cheers for putting the match on Chockie Monster That place must be is stuffed with fish
Although not the best of conditions, I'm certainly glad you took the trouble to find a relatively calm section of cut and dain't peg out a windy section Although a manky day, the 5 hours flew by.
Well done young Sladey..........who smacked me bum off the next peg. I'll have to have some lessons off him on how to snare them beastie bream.
Oh and another lesson learnt today about feeding..........(I think )

Me too..............and the leam can stay in the bag
ps Poor old KOD did have a few without the aid of those 'dreaded' little red men.......but in the words of KA 'If you don't trouble the scalesman you've caught nowt'
Bet there wasn't a 'real' dry net - I know Hillbilly on the end had a few before he jacked in

Firstly thanks for putting the match together
must say what a nice section of canal and a nice surprise never saw any of them little doggy parcels
you usually manage to tread in
well i did manage to catch my normal quota of 5 fish thats one for each hour
but didn't want to waste the scalesmans time in view of the weather conditions
I could blame the fact that i had no b&j but mr v didn't do any good with it
I could blame the wrong type of bread, the wrong colour maggots, pinkies, casters and worms
but the truth of the matter is ....................
I'm CRAP on canals :-[
but watch out i can only get better
like the sound of bread and caster match could just imagine them double figure carp milling through the reeds slurping up me warburtons

a) don't put yourself down KOD - I've known you trouble the scales on cuts before now
b) wo betide us all when that warburtons gets slurped - Hey Chockie Munster is floating bread banned on your cut matches, cuss if not thats a lot of silvers to match KODs munsters that he pulls out on it

It works further down the cut for the carp.

Good write up mate.
Mouse's Canal Match
Excellent write up Chockie Munster
It was good putting a couple of faces to names, although it was difficult to get a bit of banter going cuss of the wind
As well as being a 'social event', my education continued and I learnt quite a bit last week, mostly from all the mistakes I made on the day
