Thanks for letting me know the sections on Staffs/Worcs , I can now train for all the walking involved. I was one of the senior marshalls on Div 3 national and that was only 38 pegs. I believe there are 72? teams on Div 1 is this correct.

Marshall Ches,
Upper Limit 72 teams; three stewards per section.
That means they will cover 24 pegs each.

Marshall Ches,
Not quite sure yet; all I know is that we have to do our best to get 30 stewards.
I can only imagine that will be one steward for 24 pegs (max) plus one actual fishing steward to help with the weigh in.
The NFA will have a few stewards too.
Like last year we will have a meeting a couple of weeks or so before the match to sort it all out.
If you know of any more that want to steward let me know but I won't start putting names together for this list until April/May. If I do it too early they tend to forget about; one did last year!!!

Dodge 3 I was senior marshall on G section just up from the Moat Hotel at Acton Trussel. First one I have ever done thoroughly enjoyed it had 38 great anglers no moaning or bitching. Shame it rained at the weigh in I got wet loI.
Will be marshalling on Div 1 as well as it looks bad if the match organiser doesn't do his bit as part of its on Wolverhampton A A water.

Nice one cheslynboy
lovely bit of canal that and awfully posh round there lol. My team mate Matty Forster drew possibly THE worst peg on that section on the narrow bit with tins and a grass lawn opposite, a few pegs away a some real fliers with big rushes not far from the bridge ::)

I was a marshall in D section...
I only had two arguments...one with an arrogant Angling Times photographer and one with a former Trentman who was helping a competitior by mixing GB, tieing rigs etc etc...

Mick just emailed me the full info. I think the last paragraph should be mandatory on ALL canal matches:
Please book by name only; no block bookings by teams please although a captain can, of course, reel the names off. If any angler fails to turn up he will have to pay his peg fee (£3) from the said match before he fishes another one.
