Obviously Ken and AT will have the final decision on the choice of venue and rightly so because they are the organisers.

If the choice was yours.....

A. Would you move it.

B. Would Bloodworm and joker be allowed.

c. Would you move it around the country.

Deffo think it needs moving but to where is anyone's guess , as for allowing bloodworm i really don't think they should , its always going to favour the top teams by allowing it as they have more in depth knowledge of using the stuff but why should this be , the lesser teams have had to go through the same process to get to the final , and is there enough venues suitable to allow it to be moved about ?

Do you not think that the venue for the final should be all about the FISHING and not about where they can accommodate the tackle fest

I think with a final of this nature you have to promote it and cater for spectators, one way in which this can be done is to have a tackle village.

Recent results tells everyone the Nene is no longer a viable venue for a match of this magnitude, imagine if we had a repeat of this years AT final and NFA indi final !!! Change is needed quickly, teams and team fishing can do itself a big favour and a much needed boost if an alternative venue is found quickly !!!

wen u try to affect a few, you effect everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

also a/t need the tacklefest as that is a big side of there involvment with the final.

Sorry but how do you think the better teams got more knowledge in using bloodworm and joker, not by not using it.
I use to think like that once, the only way to improve your ability is to compete at the highest level and take on the top teams and learn from the experience. Image

Well said Chris.V. ;)

B/joker is probably THE easiest bait to feed and fish with, it does my head in when anglers complain about OTHER teams using it.

i think the stainy or a big canal would make for a good final its had semis on before and seems to handle the pressure well . plus theres loads of big fields up there for a tackle fest. or the trent thats on its way back.

Come on chris , lets face facts , with the best will in the world the smaller teams haven't got a cat in hells chance of competing with the elite on the domestic stage if they practiced for 5 years . You guys are mixing it with the french , Italians etc so to say that a team who fishes say all their matches on the Yorkshire ouse and qualifies for the final can learn how to compete is not true , a lot of these guys don't use it from one year to the next and then come the day of the final you've got to order it from two sources in case one lets you down , it just ain't gonna happen .

It doesn't matter what venue, method or bait you use the best teams will come out on top, the order may change slightly with different methods but the top four or five will remain the same. So the only consideration is the fishing, surely all the anglers should want the best fishing match available(not on a commercial). I think the weaver would be awsome but you would struggle to get tacklefest on there. Wouldn't it be good if we had a national venue like holme pierpoint that was regulary stocked and looked after with funding from things such as tacklefest.

There is loads of room (car parks, fields, hotels etc) for a tacklefest show on the weaver especially at the winsford end Image

With all due respect diddy , i do think that to have it on a venue like stainy in summer , the result is going to a lot more open than it is now. We fished the N.E Region against barnsley , ossett , thorne and the rest last summer and won it , now i'm the first to admit , we arnt in the same league as the above teams but the point i was making was that by allowing worm n joker on whatever venue the lesser teams are out before you start

If the pitch was crap Joff then it would be silly not to think about moving it.

Fin i can see where you are coming from BUT the final on the Nene isn`t all about bloodworm fishing just ask diddy he will tell,Dorking won the final in the last 30mins with 2 late eels one caught by Steve Gardner and the other by Ben Leech. There are other methods that have work well on other prevous finals like hemp, chop worm etc.

As for moving the final i think that the Nene deserves another year and if it is moved please let it be on another river later in the year when the Roach want to feed.

I dont think the final needs moving from the Nene because of the fishing, i think it needs moving around the country to a different venue every year.

It could still be held on the Nene but could also go to the Trent, The glous canal, Rudyard, Lindholme, etc etc

so wen u ban worm and joker and barnsley, tipton, starlets, dorking or another "top team" win the final by feeding 2kilos of worms and 10pints of casters per man the lesser teams would accept the result.......................

ANSWERS BELOW PLEASE.
