its that time of year again the river is full of leafs and pennywort weed normally when the river has endless fallen leafs in it it fishes really hard has anyone else noticed this on other venues

i'm i right in thinking this puts fish off for a time more so in canals and lakes rather than running waterIs it to do with a slight increase in tanin levels - similar to putting tea leaves in water
Or gases given off rotting leaves
the amount of leave at the moment is colossal in the river and it must put a layer on the bottom of canals inches thick
