Lee, no they are not the same match, no good asking Joff, he doesnt know much these days ;) The Drennan All Winners Final is fished by the top 2 teams in each regional Drennan Division usually in May at a commercial in the Midlands >:( The fish off is for the Superleague Teams that don`t make it to the Superleague Final at the first attempt. The Winner of the Drennan All Winners Final is alaso invited to fish the Superleague Final like Milo Borden did this year.

Listen, the All Winners Final and the Drennan Superleague Final are probably the best ran 2 finals in my opinion, it`s just that the Superleague Comp is poorly attended in the league stages. Maybe`s the so called "ELITE" teams and I mean elite, not some teams that think they are elite, should fish against each other, over a few days, say 3 or 4 days in a league format instead of having these stupid little leagues all over he country. The All Winners Final I think runs perfectly well, just I think the winners of the final SHOULD move up into the Superleague Format if they overalled the event. Also last place in the superleague event should move back down and be made to fish in their regionals again to prove themselves.

We fished ours last week mate, we came 3rd on the day, river was over 6ft up and should have been cancelled, it was a lottery on the day with plenty of blanks. I didn`t even sit on my box at my peg!! I say peg, my peg was something like 10ft in front of me somewhere under raging water. I managed 2 roach and a dace on lobworm tail for 3rd in section and 8pts. We had a blank on the day that cost us.
I`ll get the full results of closie this weekend and put them up on the site. Oh yes and luckily another team came in at the last minute so our league is back up to 10 :)

ELITE we certainly dont feel that at the momment iand i would gladly drop down to division one just for size of the matches but no one wants you to fish against them almost cl icky cl icky mate plus its a catch 22 if we pull out i'm sure it would fold mate

Joff, what you find is most teams that are serious about winning a final will practice at the final venue regardless of distance, the Drennan Superleague could easily pick a venue each year and the teams that are involved could have a week at the venue. 2 days practice and 3 days fishing the event. This would cut down on the cost of travelling 4, 5 or 6 times over the course of a season to venues it seems nobody is interested in. I`m sure if they could fish the event in 1 go they would be up for it. It would aslo give the incentive for the all winners, winners to move up and pit their skills against the elite for the following year as the problem of travelling around is cut out.

I have fished in 3 All Winner finals and can honestly say they are some of the best / well run matches i have competed in (we kept coming 4th  Image). The last 2 seasons we have been in the Elite league and can also honestly say its the biggest load of man balls in the match angling calander  Image  Image
