Evesham today
With rumours going round that the floods last year had swept all the roach at Evesham away i still decided to to pay the venue a visit today to watch the match fishing team champs.
With bloodworm allowed most competitors decided to ball groundbait with joker in on the pole line and it turned into a fabulous match with roach being caught every where.
Gary Miller won with a fantastic 16lb+ catch of roach and perch on bloodworm to beat Darren Frost who included a barbel of 11lb 10oz in his 14lb+ catch.
Ian Diddy123 was 3rd with 13lb of roach with 1 skimmer.
Chris V fished a very good match but he drew on a pile of tiny roach for 7lb odd and finished about 6th?? in B section
The team event went down to the last person to weigh in but Dorking proved again that they are the top team in the country.
The backing weights were brilliant with 7 and 8lb weights of roach every where.
Evesham on the river Avon...Welcome back as the wembley of match fishing.

Cracking stuff, Well done all
Evesham today
Well it shows there are still roach there.
Myself I find it incredible that people believe a flood will , 'wash,/sweep' fish away to wherever. Its an easy excuse.
I can accept they may be hard to catch or wont feed on our baits but washed away , never lol. Its a hoot.
Pleased to see some decent catches.
