i drew the alleged cock peg on the top pool. never fished there b4 and it was a bit crazy going against guys who go there every week and know the crack. They all seemed to have a carp early doors. i managed 2 small carp in first 3 hours, then following an inspirational in match chat with GT, I decided to go for bits and in all honesty prob did between 7 and 8lb of nice roach. didnt bother weighing as all around me had the odd carp, i beat a few guys on the pool and if id started for silvers may have easily done 15 to 20lb+. 31lb won it but i think on my pool 12lb was 2nd and 10lb was 3rd.

upon the whistle the match organiser had a chat and told me where id gone wrong and where i should have fished and how. He told me he would be lynched if he told me during the match.

He also said that 50 to 80lb of all silvers has been winning the winter league matches on a sunday using caster. Get over there TK, show em how its done. ;)

might add during the match the guy next to me had a go about my phone going off continually, cheers GT and kev. Image ;)

What peg were you on Yamo - between 17 & 21?
Or does the 'cock' peg alter with the onset of Winter?

tk i can't rember the peg numbers but the top winter pegs are with your back staight to the car park looking straight down the pool. They are the deepest pegs on the pool and they are known for holding the carp.

Yam if you'd of asked i would of got you some info as ive got a good mate who fishes all the opens and winter and summer leagues there

i was on peg 8 by a small tree in deep water, apparently i should have fished in middle of peg 7 as thats where the shoal stays according to the guy. I clearly wasnt to know this.

Thanks si, i wasnt prepared really but if i go again ill prob be better prepared. the canal pool fished poorly too, ask GB ! he was packed up b4 final whistle.
