Well the week didn't start well with us being stuck in traffic on the way we travelled 2 miles in 2 hours . We got down there and it was very hot and after struggling to get a bite on the pole I had a look on the bomb and had a carp about 8lb but that was it apart from some silvers it was a poor day but it was to hot.
Sunday and we were on joes the pool that was the best last year but with the heat it wasn't this time we all struggled and I had 6 carp and lost a few in the snags I ws second out of us lot with tommo beating me with 30lb of skimmers.
Monday we decided to fish pines the silverfish pool to get some fish but it was a struggle and I soon turned around and went on tanners with five pints of 8mm pellets and the tip rod. After a slow start I had a couple of carp close to the island on peg 23 but the wind picked up and I fished a bit shorter from the island and a few more fish we weighed in and after micheal had gone back to the lodge with sun burn Tommo had 58lb of pines mainly carp its the silverfish pool, Jd with 40lb odd and I had 14 carp and had 70lb in couple of hours on the bomb.
Tuesday we had a go on tanners outside the lodge as it was forecast bad and it was we packed up as we were soaked and freezing. I had 21 carp on the bomb, tommo had a few on the pole and jd a few on the bomb. The water level rose so much my platform was flooded in the finish I had 94lb, tommo 84lb JD 60lb
Wednesday we had another go on joes and it didn't fish much better I had 5 carp for 28lb Jd had 5 carp for 22lb and mikey had 5 carp for 25lb but tommo fished woodpecker and caught on the pole and had 60lb but rats stopped play as one moved the bush . I lost a lot of rigs that day as carp were putting me through a small gap in the island
Thursday and we were back on tanners I started on the bomb and could't catch so i had a look on the pole and had 4 carp 2 lumps before I found a few fish on the bomb close the island tommo had a few on the pole as did jd and mikey the wind blew tommos brolly over and broke two sections of is pole.
I had 10 carp for 64lb mikey had 40lb tommo had 80lb and JD had 91lb on the pole
Friday and it was the residents match and after drawing peg 32 on tanners I was happy with the draw and was next peg to JD the wind was very bad and I decided to fish 2/3rds across to the island as I could feed this far. After having a look on the pole with no success I went on the tip and had a carp after 40 mins and skimmer next cast I continued to feed pellets over the bomb but the wind was a problem and the ducks . I fished well and had 12 carp includeding a nice ghostey last cast that was 8lb 8oz. I weighed in 58lb dead and got fifth place beating the people both sides of me. I also beat tommo by 12oz revenge is sweet It was a wet week and didn't fish well for us as every one was on pellet wag but i'm back down there in 2 weeks too try again
