7 fished today, or rather 6 as poor old Dave's arthritis flared up and he retired gracefully, before even unloading his gear.
The weather was grey and cool with a cool breeze for some of our pegs. For a change we fished at the far end of the snake today - pegs 43 to 55.
As you will know the Snake is rarely easy going and can be quite challenging - and as suspected, today it was fairly hard.
Despite this I'm delighted to say Rod had a good day, and for much of the match led the field eventually finishing 2nd with a creditable 40lb. First was yours truly with 46lb thanks to about 15lb of carp from an otherwise dead margin later on. For most of us it was a case of rotating swims throughout the day to nick the odd fish or two. In fact as you can see all the weights were fairly close together.
Result:
1. Tony R peg 55 - 46-04lb
2. Rod peg 43 - 40-08lb
3. Terry peg 45 - 38-08lb
4. Clive peg 47 - 35-08lb
5. Jim peg 51 - 33-04lb
6. John peg 53 - 12-00lb (finished early at 2pm)
Payout 1st Tony R £12, 2nd Rod £6
