Colemans Cottage - Stepfield Lake 31-08-2109

Well our final match at Colemans after many years - the current plan is that the fishery will be changing to a members/syndicate type water at the end of the year. Today, after some confusion about which lake we were on, we fished (old) Stepfield pegs 2-24. Weather breezy, initially sunny, then sunny periods, then cloudy. The lake fished reasonably well as a whole, and most had a steady day. The carp had their heads down most of the time, and with tails swishing in very shallow margins, quite a few anglers were frustrated with foul hookers, much spooking in shallow water, or their bait being ignored despite the obvious munching by the water cows. Those who, despite this, found a way to persuade them to bite occasionally, prospered most. First today was Keith on peg 22 with a fine 138lb well ahead of the field. Josh continued his very good season with 94lb from peg 16, and yours truly was 3rd with 87lb from peg 14.
Result:
1st Keith peg 22, 138-08lb
2nd Josh peg 16, 94-00lb
3rd Tony R peg 14, 87-06lb
