Watch out for them herons. Pleasure fished this last year with Brian Brambles. Was a couple of pegs up on the LHS from parking up. Catching ok - plenty of orfe at about 12 mtrs just coming down the shelf.
All about 6-8 oz. SStrike, ship back, poor fighting orfe comes straight to top and fights about as good as a wet bag. Caught quite a few , then hit one, shipped back to top 3, wasn't looking and the top 3 was nearly snatched from my hands. Looked up - a bloody Heron had swooped down and picked up the orfe that was flapping about the top as I'd shipped back. The thing was like a pteradactyl (is that how do you spell it?) flapping its wings, staring at me with the orfe in its claws and I'd got about 10 ft of soft 14 lackie out. I'm shouting at the bloody thing to loose my fish............this carries on for about 10 secs.......the things still eye balling me.......real nastie like. it finally decided it had had enough and decided to go back to the fields so ends up smashing me. It went out of sight, but I could hear it chomping that poor orfe. :'(
So - you've been warned :D

I have fished there lots of times and have seen the Heron.
I went for a yellow stream, came back and it was playing a carp on my new rod and reel Image

i fished here in summer with a local club and weighed in a massive 156lbs, it broke the match records and this is where i was first offered sponsorship, all on home made quill floats and stilton cheese. needless to say they never invited us again, as barbara took second with 97lbs on worm. did see a heron and i tried to catch it in my landing net but missed it

Looks like a interesting venue, don't matter where you draw, all the pegs are the same by the looks of it :)

Don't neglect going down the inside shelf (4-5 ft) to your left or right dependent on conditions/cover - can throw some bonus lumps up Image
