Oxford winter league round 5 K&A canal Hungerford

The 5th round of the Angling trust Oxford winter league was fished by 6 teams of 8 on the Kennet and Avon canal between Hungerford and Froxfield. With a gin clear canal and overnight frosts then everyone feared that the canal would be very hard but it actually fished exceptionally well with 5lb needed to win each section. With 1 round to go both Drennan Oxford teams look set to qualify for the winter league final to be fished on the Fen drains and Decoy lakes in February.
Individual
1st Dean Barlow – Drennan Blue - 10lb 1oz. Dean made the most of a end peg draw to catch mainly quality perch on double fished on the pole.
2nd Geoff Lewendon – Drennan Aqua - 9lb 11oz. Geoff also had quality perch on pole fished worm over chop worm and caster feed.
3rd Martin Wickens – Drennan Aqua - 8lb 1oz. Martin also had quality perch on pole fished worm.
4th James Andrews – Sensas A4 - 7lb 7oz
