Oxford winter league Thames Sandford and Abingdon

The 3rd round of the Angling Trust Oxford winter league was fished by 6 teams of 8 on the Thames at Sandford and Abingdon. With the river still low and clear and with near frost at night during the week then the river was very moody with some sections being very hard and all 4 of the framers coming from 1 section at Abingdon.
1st Tom Hobbs – Drennan Oxford Blue – 28lb 5oz. Tom drew top end peg on Abingdon and had nearly all roach on maggot at 13m on the pole over groundbait and loose fed casters.
2nd Liam Page Smith – Sensas Reading – 24lb 1oz. Liam was next to the winner and had a similar bag of roach and 1 big pig perch.
3rd John Beesley – Drennan Oxford Aqua – 21lb 14oz. John drew peg 3 at Abingdon and had a similar bag to the anglers on pegs 1 and 2.
4th Simon Duke – Isis – 14lb 5oz. Simon drew peg 4 at Abingdon and also had roach.
