Simple Match Fishing Forum

The 5th round of the Oxford Summer league was fished by 7 teams of 6 on the Thames at Sandford and Appleford reach. After recent matches where the roach have showed in vast numbers they proved hard to catch today especially on the Appleford reach section where a lot of anglers struggled for 5lb. But todays match has set up a close finish for the league next week.
1st Stuart Keable – Sensas A4 – 20lb 14oz. Stuart Drew bottom end peg at Appleford and made no mistake having 2 early bream on the feeder and then caught roach on the waggler and maggot.
2nd Tony Hobbs - Drennan Oxford Yellow – 15lb 2oz. Tony drew on the beach near the bottom end at Sandfords and had roach and perch on the pole and maggot over groundbait feed.
3rd = Steve Townsend – Drennan Oxford Yellow – 13lb 5oz. Steve drew top end peg at Littlemore and had roach, perch and bleak on the pole and maggot over groundbait feed.
3rd = Dick Ashby – ISIS - !3lb 5oz. Dick also drew Littlemore and had roach on the waggler and caster over hemp feed.
5th Steve Pawson – Sensas A4 – 13lb.
