ODAA open Thames - Medley 18.06.17

37 anglers fished the 1st ODAA open of the season on a very hot and crowded Thames at Medley. With swimmers and boaters everywhere and a clear river no one was sure whether the fish would feed but the bream fed all through with some impressive weights in every section.
1st Mick Denton – Drennan Oxford – 60lb 2oz. Mick drew in the middle of the Poplars and had 15 bream and 2 big perch. All the fish fell to pole fished worm over chop worm and caster at 14m.
2nd John Aldridge – Isis – 39lb. John drew at the top of the mud flats and had 12 bream on the open end feeder and worm fished down the middle of the river.
3rd Martin Phipps – Drennan Oxford – 29lb 9oz. Martin drew at Black Jacks and had 4 big brema and a number of skimmers on the open end feeder and worm.
4th Gary Barclay – Drennan Oxford – 22lb 9oz. Gary drew near the top end of Medley and had chub and bream on the pole and worm over chop worm feed.
