RIVER SOAR CHAMPIONSHIP

Soar Championship 2016.
I was talking to an old friend the other day who used to match fish in his younger days. He asked me why he saw so few matches at Sutton Bonington this year. I told him the fishing was hard due to clear water levels, lots of pike and a lack of quality fish. He recalled how the Soar Championship used to be the highlight of his year fished at Sutton and Normanton by up to 300 anglers. I said the match might be moved to the upper reaches of the river this year.
He then made me an offer I could not refuse. He pledged a bonus of £200 to whoever won the match if it was fished at Sutton. With a good entry the winner should pick up around £350.
So here are the details.
Sunday October 30th.
Draw Kings Head Sutton Bonington at 8.30.
Breakfast available from 7.30.
Entry £20.
Pegging money donated to charity. Limited to 80 anglers.
Teams of 4. Entry £20. Winning team takes all.
