The 1st round of the Angling Trust Oxford winter league was fished by 6 teams of 8 on the Thames at Abingdon and Culham. The match was fished in bright sunshine with a clear river with very little flow but the river returned to the good form it has shown for most of the year.
1st Ian Higgins – Drennan ODAA – 21lb 8oz. Ian drew to top section at Abingdon opposite Wilsham road and had all skimmer bream on 13m pole and worm over groundbait.
2nd Tim Kaye – Isis – 18lb 10oz. Tim drew opposite to rowing club at Abingdon and had mainly skimmer bream on 13m pole and worm and then the groundbait feeder and worm.
3rd Carl Eland - Drennan Oxford – 15lb 1oz. Carl drew 3 a Swift ditch and had mainly roach on 13m pole and caster over groundbait feed.
4th Darren Wright – Sensas A4 – 14lb 14oz

2nd Drennan Oxford - 33
3rd Top Tackle - 29
