Simple Match Fishing Forum

The 3rd round of the Oxford summer was fished by 7 teams of 6 on the Thames at Dorchester and Benson. The match this week was always going to be much more of a hard match for the anglers on the deeper and slower sections used and after a week of hot humid weather. Big fish were at a premium but there were small fish to be caught in most sections and it turned out to be a very fair match.
1st Ian Young – Drennan Oxford Blue – 15lb 4oz. Ian drew bottom end peg at Dorchester and had a tench and lots of small perch and chub on pole fished worm over chop worm feed at 7m and backed this up with roach and small hybrids on hemp at 11mm.
2nd Steve Townsend – Drennan Oxford Yellow - 12lb 1oz. Steve drew in the bottom section at Benson and had 7lb of roach and 5lb of bleak all on a 6m whip to hand with maggot on the hook over groundbait feed.
3rd Mark Harrington – Sensas A4 - 10lb 15oz. Mark drew 4 below the Thame mouth and had 4 big perch plus small chub on a chop worm feeder with worm on the hook
4th Dave Kirk – Isis - 8lb 5oz
