Weekend
Yeh but dry sunny and warm my a*se, lake was quite busy with about a dozen others already fishing - mostly feeder to the islands, unfortunately there were four guys in a line where I was hoping to go but settled in old peg number 26/27 next to some old reeds and a bit sheltered from the cool SE breeze.Started on 2+2 out in front and after about 5 mins had an F1 of couple of pounds after that it was slow but steady mainly carp and several vermin ( I mean skimmers). After a couple of hours decided to try the margins and had a carp straight away around 4lb, by now it had clouded over and was getting cooler, had several more from the margin including one of 8lb, at 3pm it started to rain and as didn't have a brolly packed it in.
I'd fished for about 4 hours, probably around 16 carp and numerous skimmers - the water was still very cold and when I got back to the car the temperature was 11.5 degrees - bloody weatherforecasters
