Here is the result of todays match on the river.
Angling Trust Soar Valley Winter League
Sunday 18th October. River Soar from Mountsorrel to Kegworth
90 anglers fished.
Total weight caught by the 90 anglers was a staggering 803lbs which is a average of 8lb 9oz per man all returned safely back to the river
Individuals
1) Top Ponds 18 Sam Merry Wigston A.S. 23lbs 4oz
Sam had two tench and a few perch on chopped worm for about nine pounds but the bulk of hid weight were roach to twelve ounce caught on the long pole on bread punch
2) Barrow 7 Dave Varney Kamasan Starlets 19lbs 3 ½ oz
Dave had some quality perch on chopped worm on the short pole line backed up with a net of roach on pinkie over groundbait on the long pole.
3) Abbey 4 Dave Petch Quorn A.S. 17lbs 15 ½ oz
Dave had around ten pound of roach on caster and hemp on thr long pole. This was boosted by a barbell of around eight pounds on his light rig.
