Oxford Winter league practice open

The practice match for the 1st round of the Oxford winter league was fished by 30 anglers on the Thames at Culham and Appleford reach. A near overnight frost and a bright sunny day greed anglers and it produced a very close match with plenty of bites for all.
1st Steve Townsend - Drennan Oxford - 11lb 6oz. Steve drew 2 below the pumping station at Appleford and had small roach, perch, gudgeon and bleak on a 5m whip and maggot over small balls of groundbait.
2nd = John Beesley - Drennan Oxford - 10lb 10oz, John drew top end peg at Culham, just below the marina. He had 4lb of perch on worm on the pole and then caught roach on the waggler and maggot.
2nd = Gary Barclay - Drennan Oxford - 10lb 10oz. Gary drew 2 below Swift ditch at Culham and had perch on the pole and worm and then caught bleak on the whip and maggot.
4th Martin Kirk - Sensas A4 - 9lb 5oz.
