Simple Match Fishing Forum

This winter series I intend on running it as a league consisting of 18 matches ,all Saturdays bar one Sunday after the new year. Anglers are allowed to drop 4 of the 18 results giving room to fish other leagues and winter breakes etc.
There will be a one off fee of £5 to enter league. For those who only want to fish individual matches can do so as normal.
£5 for those not in the league and £5.50 for those in the league of which 50p goes towards the final payout on the last match of series.Any peg fees will be added to the pools on the day ,anglers will be notified of this in advance .
I will sort out a few sandwiches etc on the last match so we can have a bit of a presentation and I'll match the league fees to double the pot out my own pocket .
I will not be able to fish myself due to my opp but will peg out and weigh in as normal

Col , I will be able to fish about half of the proposed matches , am happy to throw a fiver in to start and will then pick my matches if thats ok ?

It's something I've spoke to Tk about the match weights haven't been what ide expect them to be in recent gruellers yet I know the fish are in there
The idea is to stop it for 2 seasons to see if it makes a difference. I've put the extention matches down early to give us the best chance of catching whilst it's still mild. I fish the wnj myself gaz but you know as well as me its not what it should be.
I'm allowing it on the common though.

Mr v contacted me today said he wanted to run a pairs in between the gruellers and with obi having his usual moan I disided to cut it in half. Last year it remained mild over Christmas and a lot of people asked for more matches other than
The fortnightly ones that's why I put 18 down but in fairness its too many,especially for a winter league. I've offered to match the money paid in to make it more interesting for everybody and I'll sort out some food on the final day.
I'll see what Mr v decides to do and if there's demand for extra matches I can easily sort something out for everyone

There a hard lot to please Tk,they'll be asking me to pick em up next.

Last year I paid £2 per person. He did mention about everyone buying a ticket which was £10 and I think concession s slightly cheaper.I'll ask him about it when I book up with him. It means I've got check tickets when I'm collecting peg fees.would be easier if everyone brought a ticket but is everyone prepared to do that ?

Can you make sure you do that on the common then please, will need a decent wind break down there

Just using Cols dates and venues, I thought it would make for a bit more interest and banter if we ran a pairs event over the gruellers. Without picking partners I thought the fairest way to do it was this: On the first "pairs" match, everybody draws their own peg. If there are 20 pegs, the format to decide your partner would be whoever draws peg 1 would be with whoever draws peg 11. Peg 2 would be with 12, peg 3 would be with 13 etc. etc. That is your partner for the series
Then on the rest of the pairs matches, there would be 2 pegs in each envelope. One of the pair draws, and then him and his "mate" draw there pegs from the 2 in the envelope.
I know whoever draws Blues or Big Col will be guaranteed at least one end peg , but thought it might be a fair and interesting way to do it

Using Cols dates, how about spreading the pairs out as this example:
