Simple Match Fishing Forum

The Thames festival was fished by 69 anglers over 3 days, 8th, 9th, 10th September, on the Thames between Abingdon and Appleford. each angler fished the 3 venues in rotation over the 3 days. The match was sponsored by Drennan International and Dave Harrell Angling and very efficiently run by Paul Glenfield and his daughter Rachel Glenfield. In a close match the ever consistent Paul Passmore won the title for the 2nd year in a row.

Day 1

1st Lee Klimczuz - Shakespeare - 18lb 13oz. Lee drew B24, end peg at Culham, and had a bag of roach on a 6m whip and maggot r groundbait.

2nd Paul Passmore - Devizes - 15lb 12oz.Peg B14.

3rd Martin Kirk - Sensas A4 - 14lb 2oz. Peg A1



Day 2

1st Neil Richardson - Diawa Gordon League - 18lb 5oz. Neil drew B2 at Culham, just below Abingdon marina. Neil had 4 big perch for 11lb and backed this up with roach and small perch on the pole and worm.

2nd Tony Marshal - Shakespeare - 17lb 12oz. Peg B7

3rd Steve Clark - Maver Image -17lb 10oz. Peg A1



Day 3

1st Sam Marry - Shakespeare - 18lb 8oz. Sam drew B24, end peg at Culham. He had all roach on 13m pole and caster over groundbait.

2nd Gary Ethridge - Garbolino Blackmore Vale - 12lb 12oz. Peg A12

3rd Paul Passmore - Devizes - 10lb 13oz. Peg A17
