Match 8 - Curborough New Pool again
Posted: June 16th, 2008, 1:02 pm
Been a bit busy this weekend …………having my bum spanked yesterday on the cut
Ok here goes – hope it’s still in time for ME……………and don’t forget me stick of rock.
Despite having a really good match a few weeks ago at the venue, it was disappointing that only 19 Cashmores members (73%) turned up for this one, with no visitors tagging along.
BDM dipped into the bag quite early only to find he’d drawn peg 35, the same as last time in an area not considered to be the best by Colin the Curborough King.
The coincidence didn’t end there, as Yamo on 2, Zorro on 25 and Veste on 37 all pulled out the same peg they drew last time.
In fact BDM only took 1 photo all day, which was going to be posted under the title of déjà vu, of Yamo sitting on peg 2.
A few lessons learnt from the first visit were applied from the off. In fact BDM was flying with 4lb in the net in the first 15 mins – skimmers, small tench, crucians, F1s and koi/goldfish.
Things then slowed down dramatically – had the feeding regime been cocked up – did they want different today?
In fact things were so slow, pick up a fish from this line, then that line then the 3rd line, that in a call fom JK at 11.50am, nearly 2 hours into the match BDM confided that he reckoned he’d got 8lb 3oz at that stage.
3rd hour was slow too, but others in vision were struggling also. With no evidence of bank walkers, it was surmised that those in the favoured areas (middle) and down at the far end must be sacking whilst the weary warriors on pegs 2-8 and 35-40 scratched their heads at how to provoke the next bite.
The 4th and 5th hour seemed to pick up a tad for those on the near end of the pool and a few fish hit the nets.
The whistle went and Robin the fishery manager was soon weighing in. First to weigh on 2 was Yamo with 15-12-0, followed by HaHa on 4 going a tad better with 19-8-0. Cotti tipped 17-12-0 before the scales went out of view.
Anyway, all that trooped past BDM back to the car had put double figures onto the scales once again, making it another good match for the Cashmores Crew.
No doubt the tom tom drums have been beating so here’s the result that some have been waiting for…………………..
1. BDM 33-4-0
2. Tigerbay 31-6-0 (Hope that info worked for you……….)
3. Zorro 29-10-0
4. Worminator 22-8-0
Other ‘contributors’ to the site (in order)………….
HaHa 19-8-0
KOD 19-4-0
Cotti 17-12-0
Yamo 15-12-0
MGB 13-8-0
Veste 13-4-0 (Not bad considering he missed half the match picking the Mrs up from the hospital)
Heinzer 13-0-0
Brambles 10-8-0
