The practice match for the next round of the Oxford winter league was fished by 36 anglers on the Oxford canal at Kidlington. With the recent trimming of the majority of the features on the far bank of the canal then the match was always going to be dominated by end pegs and remaining feature pegs. But with few boats and the mild weather there were still small fish to be caught by most anglers.
st John Aldridge - ISIS - 9lb 10oz 8drm - John drew on a large bush on the Grovelands pound and had all perch on the pole and worm fished over chop worm feed close to the bush.
nd Darren Wright - Sensas A4 - 7lb 14oz. Darren drew top end peg on the pound below the pub. He had some good roach to 1lb 10oz on caster as well as small roach on pinkie fished tight to far bank rushes.
rd John Taylor - Tubertini Apollo - 6lb 5oz 8drm - John drew on a feature peg on the Grovelands pound and had roach and perch on caster and pinkie on the pole.
th Martin Wickens - Drennan Oxford - 5lb 9oz. Martin was on top end peg and had a net of small roach and perch on bloodworm over joker feed.
th Richard Rosinski - Sensas A4 - 4lb 11oz.
