Joff, has the abbey section of the river been paper pegged? You couldnt see any permenant pegs down there in practice.

Don't know what it's like but certainly looks interesting, and a tad easier walking than bleeding Abby :whistle :whistle (so long as you can go through gate of course, lol

Lol, its far enough for me mate :-X :-[

Top ponds don't look as Peggy as Abbey either.... :whistle :whistle

Mind you it prob still needs to be in even if top ponds reinstated cos 2 sections on Bonsers is a bit of a squeeze & could spoil a good bit of river :nono :fistycuffs

;)

The owner is expecting them back at some point personally i'd of left it in plus we've pegged it . Its becoming the old regime again chasing fish all over the river one reason i left it . Just getting anglers back on the rivers sections with good parking EASY WALKS and the week before it starts this happens :facepalm :facepalm :facepalm
watchout the osier beds will be in next week Image Image Image Image Image Image

As The match organiser I have to work with the land owners to ensure we retain our fishing rights. The farmer on the Top ponds has requested we do not use it this week as he wants to clear up the rubbish left by gypsies and be sure they will jot return before leaving the gate unlocked.
I have moved the section to the Abbey Meadow as some of the Trentmen team fished there recently and reported excellent results. Also it does not entail long walks and the access is good with just one gate to cross.
Only sad thing is that I have to justify my actions to people who never put any effort into running matches!!!

Well pointed out Brian.

Can't help thinking there should be a little more support for what is really a thankless task.

Correct Barrow boy we have run matches all summer and a lot of anglers that fish the winter league didn't fish them. Now the winter league is upon us everyone and their dog are telling us where to put the sections :facepalm :facepalm :facepalm
i wonder if the abbey/Bonsors is not fishable should we put it on the canal :whistle :whistle :whistle
No everyone will want the deeps in :facepalm :facepalm :facepalm
Deep Down the choice is Brians and no one should question it the work that has gone into access and clearing pegs is down to a handful of anglers yet during the summer we catered for hundreds to have a decent competition we didn't have one moan !!!!!!

I think Brians doing a fantastic job running the league! The man deserves a medal for all the effort he has put into it.
Especially with the bonsors section of river!! :thumsup :thumsup :thumsup :thumsup :thumsup

My comment was ment as a bit of fun, but the last two years the wights have been very, very, good if it isn't broke and all that, and joff it would be hard to fish a winter league in summer pal, we know they move in autumn for winter and where they will or should be!!!!

Quite agree Pete over the last couple of winter leagues this year has attracted the biggest turn we have had for 8 to 10 years like you i know why because of the access and hard work getting it .Its a shame about the top ponds just hope it goes back in for the second . Just dont want it going back to the long walks and battering pegs out :-/ :-/

Couldn't agree more with all the sentiments regarding Brian, the guy deserves a medal as 'big as a dustbin lid' :tiphat

It just goes to show how deep the previous years scars are that a bit of light hearted discussion has caused him to feel he needs to justify his actions... >:( >:( >:(

Well you don't need to justify anything to me pal, as far as I'm concerned you the boss and I just go where me captain tells me to ;)

As for the people who are serious with the interfering and give rise to most of the politics should be ashamed of themselves - they know who they are, but the sad thing is they probably don't think they've done owt wrong...!!!!! :fistycuffs

Keep up the good work Brian, you'll always have the full support of everyone at Trentmen :thumsup
