UPPER THAMES ANGLING TRUST WINTER LEAGUE RESULTS
Angling Trust Upper Thames Winter League Round 1. River Thames Lechlade to Radcot (56 pegs) 05.10.14
The first round of the Upper Thames Winter League was fished on the Thames between Lechlade and Radcot and the fishing was quite hard after one of the first frosts of the year and bright conditions with Roach being conspicuous by their absence!
Winner on the day was Mick Craddock (Browning Andover) who drew one of the noted pegs by Lechlade Bridge and caught 17-6 of predominantly Perch to 3lb on worms over worms and Caster on the pole at 11 metres.
Runner Up was Garbolino Blackmore Vale's Kev Bennett who drew above St Johns Lock and caught small fish over groundbait on Casters and Maggots at 13 metres on the pole before catching a couple of bigger Perch and a 4lb Chub on chopped Lobworms at 9 metres to weigh in 12-12.
Third was Richard Chave (Garbolino Blackmore Vale) who weighed 8-7 of predominantly Roach caught between 13 and 16 metres on Casters from a peg at Lechlade.
4th: Ian Sheppherd (Daiwa Gordon League)- 8-00
5th: Andy Jayne (Maver Lobbies)- 7-9
6th: Kev Rowles (Devizes MG)- 7-1
On the team front Garbolino Blackmore Vale won a very close match with 38 points from Browning Andover in second with 35 points and Devizes Match Group in third with 34 points.
4th: Maver Lobbies- 33

UPPER THAMES ANGLING TRUST WINTER LEAGUE RESULTS
Angling Trust Upper Thames Winter League Round 2. K and A Canal Seend Park to Semmington (56 pegs) 19.10.14
The second round of the league was fished in summer-like conditions and some reasonable weights were recorded.
Winner on the day with an outstanding 27-13 was Daiwa Gordon League's Andy Pollard who drew 4 pegs above the Semmington Pumper and caught Bream and Eels to 3lb on worms and Casters on the pole over groundbait.
Runner Up was Rob Kepner (Devizes MG) who drew at Seend Park and caught skimmers on the pole and caster at 13 metres to weigh 11-10.
3rd: Rob Randall (Garbolino BV)- 10-15
4th: Robin Guy (Devizes MG)- 10-10
5th: Paul Godding (South Cerney)- 9-12
6th: Andy Jayne (Maver Lobbies)- 9-1
Devizes MG and Garbolino Blackmore Vale tied with 36 points at the top with the latter getting the match win by virtue of greater weight.
3rd: Daiwa Gordon League- 35
4th: Swindon Talismen- 34
5th: Maver Lobbies- 32
6th: South Cerney- 30
7th: Browning Andover- 23.
This means that Garbolino Blackmore Vale are leading with 2 points, from Devizes Mg on 5 points.

Upper Thames Winter League Round 3. River Avon Melksham and Chippenham (55 pegs)
The third round of the winter league was fished on a colouring and pacy River Avon and the steaddier water at Chippenham provided the top 3 weights.
Winner on the day from Island Park at Chippenham was James Rock (Browning Andover) who caught mainly Roach to a pound on the Bolo and maggots and casters over groundbait to weigh 18-7.
Runner Up was Paul Passmore (Devizes MG) who drew an unfancied peg on the brambles and caught Roach and Perch on the pole at 10 and 13 metres over initially balled groundbait, then over baitdroppered worm,
where he caught two small Chub and two small skimmers to end up with 18-6.
3rd: Kev Rowles (Devizes MG)- 13-6
4th=: Alan Jones (Daiwa Gordon League)- 13-2
4th=: Andy Burns (South Cerney)- 13-2
6th: Andy Pollard (Daiwa Gordon League)- 12-10
On the team front Daiwa Gordon League won the day with 38 points, from Devizes and Maver Lobbies with 35 points and Garbolino Blackmore Vale in fourth on 33 points, and Swindon Talismen in fifth on 32 points.
This means that Garbolino Blackmore Vale are winning the league with 6 points from Devizes MG on 7 points and Daiwa Gordon League on 11 points.

Upper Thames Winter League Round 4. River Avon Melksham and Chippenham (56 pegs) 9th November 2014
The fourth round of the winter league went ahead on a coloured and pacy Bristol Avon and a sharp frost in the morning did nothing to help the fishing.
Despite this two anglers managed double figures and Mark Brush (Daiwa Gordon League) drew in the middle of Scotland Road at Melksham and fished the groundbait feeder all day with worms and maggots to catch two big Bream, a Tench and some Perch and Roach to win the match with 16-04.
Runner Up was Andy Pollard (Daiwa Gordon League) who caught two big Chub on the feeder and some bits on the pole to weigh in 11-11, both of them helping their team to first on the day.
3rd: Rob Randall (Garbolino Blackmore Vale)- 8-13
=4th: Ian Sheppherd (Daiwa Gordon League) and Kev Rowles (Devizes MG)- 8-02
6th: Shane Williams (Maver Lobbies)- 7-08
On the team front Daiwa Gordon League and Maver Lobbies tied for first with 41 points, with DGL getting the verdict on weight, and with another tie for third with 35 points, Garbolino Blackmore Vale got the verdict over Devizes MG on weight.

This means that Garbolino Blackmore Vale are winning the league with 9 points from Devizes MG with 11 points, and Daiwa Gordon league in third with 12 points

Upper Thames Winter League Round 5. K & A Canal Great Bedwyn to little Bedwyn (55 pegs) 23rd November 2014
The fifth round of the winter league was held in mild and rainy conditions on the Kennet and Avon Canal from Potters to Roadside, and there were some good weights caught.
Winner on the day was Glynn Loveday (South Cerney) who drew the first peg on Roadside and caught 21-5 of skimmers to 2lb on maggots, worms and casters over groundbait on the pole.
Runner Up was the fat, vegetarian fireman Richard Chave (Garbolino BV) who drew the top lock at Ironbridge and caught 33 skimmers and Perch for 19-4 on maggots, Casters and redworms over Chopped lobworms at 11.5 metres.
3rd: Andy Burns (South Cerney)- 15-12
4th: Kev Bennett (Garbolino BV)- 10-12
5th: Stu Dabbs (Browning Andover)- 10-10
6th: Andy Powell (Maver Lobbies)- 10-3
On the team front Garbolino Blackmore Vale won a close match with 39 points from Daiwa Gordon League on 38 and Maver Lobbies 0n 37.

Upper Thames Winter League Round 6. K & A Canal Great Bedwyn (56 pegs) 30th November 2014
The final round of the Upper Thames Winter League was fished on the sections above Great Bedwyn and the match was won by the first peg in the famous Crofton Pumper section by Maver Lobbies stalwart Andy Richings who caught
Skimmers and Perch on the pole and worms and Casters to weigh 16-13.
Runner Up was Charlie Vallender (Maver Lobbies) who drew end peg at the Wharfe and caught small Skimmers and Perch on Casters and maggots to record a weight of 11-12.
Third place went to league individual champion Rob Randall (Garbolino Blackmore Vale) who drew a 6 metre wide peg at Trout Reach and caught 180 Roach on Breadpunch, then on squatt over groundbait to weigh an impressive 11-9.
4th: Mick Craddock (Browning Andover)- 10-13
5th: Jamie Cox (Garbolino Blackmore Vale)- 10-12
6th: Wayne Parker (Swindon Talismen)- 10-9-8
On the team front Garbolino Blackmore Vale won on the day and sewed the league up with an impressive 44 point total. Runners up were Daiwa Gordon League with a very close 43 points and Devizes Mg were a distant third with 31 points.
