The 5th round of the Oxford summer league was fished by 7 teams of 6 the Thames at Abingdon and Culham reach. The match was fished in windy conditions but on a river with a nice flow. The roach are still very shoaled up but there were still plenty of fish in all of the sections. The team result sets up a close finish for next weeks final round.
1st Alex Clements - Drennan Bordon - 17lb 12oz. Alex drew downstream end peg at Culham and made the most of it a nete of skimmers, roach and perch on caster over groundbait on the pole.
2nd John Beesley - Drennan Banbury Gunsmiths - 16lb 2oz. John drew Dace corner, below the mouth of the river Ock and had 1 bream plus skimmers and roach on the pole and caster on the pole over groundbait.
3rd Mark Lindsay - KC angling - 12lb 15oz. Mark drew on Culham reach and had mainly perch on worm over chop worm on the pole.
4th Gary Barclay - Drennan Banbury Gunsmiths - 12lb 14oz
5th Paul Passmore - Devises - 12lb 11oz
