We were up at lakeveiw a couple of years ago in the Drennan All Winners Final Joff, really nice venue btw.....caught big weights on the caster shallow when conditions were right, big F1 racing cars and make up mirrors & house of commons to 7lb and some lovely skimmers. My team mate Mick Cocker won it individually with nearly 80lb off Marina.
We sussed out sommat with the hookbait which caught better stamp fish
...... we didnt use caster on the hook

Had plenty of yellow cards in the past so another will be like water of a ducks back
Finally made it to my local Blundells fishery yesterday (saturday) my first visit in 8 months
http://www.blundells.net/
Some of the very best commercial lads around use blundells, specialist, full time lads so competition is top notch and results usually very close !!
Three lakes were in as the others had club bookings so it was a full house and every peg being used for the open. When every peg is in the venue always switches off and it is a matter of head down and careful feeding.I drew on East lodge which has a lot of decent sized F1s 12oz - 2lb which have seen it all before and are usually very difficult to catch. After a very enjoyable day i managed 46lb of F1s and a bonus chub of 2lb to win my section, another 3 or 4 F1s would of seen me sneek in the frame.
Went for a beer afterwards with keiron rich and the lads to catch up on a few things whiteacres, fisho
;)
